Why Sunday Matters

In-Person Service Update

Why Sunday Matters: A message from Dave Arnold

As a community learning to be a family on mission together, our Sunday gathering has always been a significant part of our formation. Together, we learn to practice publicly what we seek to do privately.  We have talked before at St Clair about how our Sunday gathering is a spiritual discipline that helps anchor us and orientate us to the presence of God in our lives and in the world. We never imagined there would be a time we couldn’t meet, but this new COVID reality has forced us to learn many things in a whole new way.

We are so thankful that so many have found meaningful ways of connecting online since March. We are now at a new juncture at a very curious time. As you know, we have been carefully integrating a phased-in approach to meeting in person on a Sunday.  We had planned in the early fall to be opening our doors come late November in hopes that there would be a safe way of using the Ryerson space. We are now ready to do that, though we are very cognizant of the current COVID conditions in our city.  With that in mind, we will be opening up our doors on Sunday, November 29th for the first chance to anyone from St Clair to join. There will be a max capacity of 75 people; well below the actual capacity of the room.  We will continue to be a community that is accessible online so that we may best serve everyone who calls St Clair home.  We are eager to be together and long for the day when we can do that fully and freely!
